About this movie

Alan Rickman stars as legendary NYC club owner Hilly Kristal, who during the 1970s, wanted to create a venue for country, bluegrass and blues music (thus the name CGBG). When those acts became difficult to book, he shifted the club's focus to local bands playing original music, launching the careers of Patti Smith, Blondie, the Talking Heads and the Ramones and helping to define New York's punk scene and changing the face of music.

I spent alot of time at cbgb in the late 80s and the 90s. Alot of memories and great times thanks to this awesome venue. I think it had the best sound system in any club in NY OR NJ.you were able to get right up there with the band on the stage or right in front. Had to be on lookout cause od the stage divers. During an agnostic front show there were atleast 10 people diving into the crowd at 1 time.. bodies flying everywhere. All the stories are true. The bathrooms were legendary and gross..

My father and I saw the movie posters advertised and we were stoked for the film. Took 2 blotters earlier previous to viewing, and I starting hallucinating, but relaxed. Medicated with medical cannabis as well. A lot...
