About this movie

From director George Miller, originator of the post-apocalyptic genre and mastermind behind the legendary “Mad Max” franchise, comes “Mad Max: Fury Road,” a return to the world of the Road Warrior, Max Rockatansky. Haunted by his turbulent past, Mad Max (Tom Hardy) believes the best way to survive is to wander alone. Nevertheless, he becomes swept up with a group fleeing across the Wasteland in a War Rig driven by an elite Imperator, Furiosa (Charlize Theron). They are escaping a Citadel tyrannized by the Immortan Joe (Hugh Keays-Byrne), from whom something irreplaceable has been taken. Enraged, the Warlord marshals all his gangs and pursues the rebels ruthlessly in the high-octane Road War that follows.

Complete waste of money. Literally just a mashup up of action scenes, maybe 5 lines spoken throughout the entire film. If I had to summarize it in one sentence, let's take this truck, move it over here, then move it back with little to no context given. You really have to pay attention in the opening scene to get anything out of the movie at all. One of the worst films I've seen in a long time.

It's shocking that they are calling this movie a "Part 4" given it has zero continuity with any of the originals. It also isn't even a prequel of some sort. Furiosa Road would have been a better title as you won't find much of anything typical of Max (if you could call the character "Max"). They could have done the entire movie without him and it wouldn't have made any difference. On that note, there's not much of anything that makes this flick uniquely in the Mad Max universe: where is Barter Town?

I do not like Tom Hardy as Max, his performance was blah, he did not bring any emotion into his character. If they make a sequel they better cast someone else as Max. The story line was kinda boring it was just too slow. I love this franchise I just wish they would have tried a little harder, and cast a better actor for Max. Mel was sooo much better and brought emotion into the character to draw you in, Hardy just did not have it.
