About this movie

Unable to endure another mind-numbing day at Initech Corporation, cubicle slave Peter Gibbons (Ron Livingston) gets fired up and decides to get fired. Armed with a leisurely new attitude and a sexy new girlfriend (Jennifer Aniston), he soon masters the art of neglecting his work, which quickly propels him into the ranks of upper management! Now the stage is set for Peter to carry out a high-tech embezzling scheme that's sure to mean the end of his job and a one-way ticket to easy street. However, not everything works out quite as planned. From writer/director Mike Judge.

This movie while lacking that big budget feel of many movies, proves that creativity is king in comedy. It really hits home with many who are disgruntled with business as usual in the workplace. Great acting by everyone and you can't help but feel sorry for Milton who continually seems to get the shaft. I always notice red Slingerline staplers in offices and often take selfies in hopes of getting a good one for Facebook. By the way, for the geeks out there, you gotta love a movie that puts DOS on a Mac.

Ahhh yes, this movie takes me back in the day when I was an office drone. I was the one who always answered the phone and had to repeat the same thing over and over. I watched this movie all the time because it was real. Now that I am a housewife and I feel bored being stuck at home all day, I watch this and remember what true misery was. This movie reminded me of how nauseatingly annoying other office employees and bosses were. This movie mad. made me realize why I choose to become a stay at home Mom.

Don't listen to anyone who gives this movie a bad review. It is certainly a parody of life as an office worker, but anyone who has ever worked in an office is going to relate and laugh like hell. For the ulta-sensitive, there is some foul language, but not enough to turn you away unless you are a complete prude. Almost 16 years later and this movie still holds up.
