About this movie

Royal Tenenbaum (Gene Hackman) and his wife, Etheline (Anjelica Huston), had three children -- Chas, Margot, and Richie -- and then they separated. Chas (Ben Stiller) started buying real estate in his early teens and seemed to have an almost preternatural understanding of international finance. Margot (Gwyneth Paltrow) was a playwright and received a Braverman Grant of $50,000 in the ninth grade. Richie (Luke Wilson) was a junior champion tennis player and won the U.S. Nationals three years in a row. Virtually all memory of the brilliance of the young Tenenbaums was subsequently erased by two decades of betrayal, failure, and disaster. THE ROYAL TENENBAUMS is a hilarious, touching, and brilliantly stylized study of melancholy and redemption.

After watching Anderson's rushmore, I was compelled to see another one of his films. Rushmore was one of the greatest movies ive ever seen, which is why I was terribly disappointed to find this movie such a bore,. It was litteraly jut long, boring and confusing. I am so disappointed. I really thought I was going to be a genius film, I on't knowhow someone can go from making a film like rushmore to this. My girlfriend fell asleep 20 minutes into the movie and I just white-knuckled watching the majority of the rest of this film. Waste of the 3 bucks to rent. sorry wes, but your better than this

Once again I am left staring as the credits scroll, legs asleep and eyes dry from staring. Every frame is packed with quirky visual details and style. The characters are so neurotic you become genuinely curious to see what happens as they through their days: making connections, having realizations; oblivious to the viewer despite our often intimate perspective.

These kinds of nonsensical lazy low budget movies are objectively terrible. Narration is atrocious no matter what, and all of Wes projects are horrible. Weird and sloppy does not equal quality ever.
