About this movie

Early 1960s. Tulsa, Oklahoma. The city is divided between teenagers who have grown up with wealth and privilege and the rough-edged "greasers" from the wrong side of the tracks. The greasers yearn for the life they see on the other side of town, but the rich kids want to keep them in their places. Then, one greaser dares cross the line to talk, and to dream of more, with a girl from across the tracks . . . an action that can only lead to conflict on a hot, steamy night.

This classic tale of unity and brotherhood is overshadowed by bad acting, poor writing, and old themes. Every word was like a history teacher droning on while the audience is the students in the back eating glue just to have something to do. But it did have a decent ending that actually climaxed in an exciting burst of quality that was missing from the previous half of the movie. That ending is the only reason this movie didn't get a single star. It's it's saving grace.

Great movie but 4 stars because they cut out some of the most important parts‚ such as the end when sodapop runs off and all the brothers have a heart to heart conversation and the beginning when ponyboy‚ gets jumped/explains everything. (They had two different beggings but in the end they went with the scene where he got jumped)

There were several scenes that were cut out of this version of the movie. The audio/ visual quality was good. But didn't justify spending $4 to rent it. This is the first and last time I will use google play to purchase anything to watch.
