I am not one to write an impressive review as some, but to those who thoroughly enjoyed this movie I don't think you have experienced a real kung fu movie; I will admit however that some of the fighting scenes were intense and enjoyable. I give it a C - for lack of character interaction, depth, and choreographed fight scenes.

An entertaining mix of classic kung-fu genre and modern story telling elements. Reeves' performance as the villain is strong, and his direction is surprisingly good. A few minor quibbles aren't worth reducing the rating. Chen Hu is the real gem here. His performance is emotional and visceral. Totally worth the $10 rental.

This is —barring the absolute triumphs that were Street Fighter: Assassin's Fist and Street Fighter 2 (Japanese anime un-butchered version)— what all those other Street Fighter movie attempts should have been! All the others owe us a life.
