About this movie

Alex (Adam Scott), Emily (Taylor Schilling) and their son, RJ have recently moved to Los Angeles’ Eastside from Seattle. Feeling lost in a new city, they are desperate to find their first new friends. After a chance meeting with Kurt (Jason Schwartzman) at the neighborhood park, they gladly agree to join him and his wife Charlotte (Judith Godrèche) for family pizza night at their home. But as the night goes on and the kids go to bed, the family “playdate” becomes increasingly more revealing and bizarre as the couples begin to open up.

i love Jason and Adam ...great actors and they showed their talent yet again, however the plot was not to my preference, which doesn't reflect them as acting. Just my opinion. The story was just a bit too preteen following the crowd not having a sense of self at a time in your life when you most certainly should. So perhaps is how so called adults now are....alot of peer pressure and manipulative behaviors which I dont enjoy in real life, haha. However I felt a little Cool Ethan present and that made me laugh. Also enjoyed hearing some Coconut Records.

I thought this movie was contrived and stupid. The preview reel is some impressive marketing as it highlights the only three funny moments in the film and the rest of the story is weak. The actors are enjoyable to watch, but the plot line falls short and as a comedy the laughs are too far between to make it worthwhile. Not sure why it has the ratings it has garnered, but we were sorely disappointed.

I can understand how some people liked it, but the transitions between the high energy fun filled scenes and the more mellow ones were too much of a buzzkill.
