About this movie

Sandra Bullock and George Clooney star in this heart-pounding thriller written, set in the infinite and unforgiving realm of deep space. Bullock plays a brilliant medical engineer on her first shuttle mission, with Clooney as a veteran astronaut in command of his last flight before retiring. But on a seemingly routine spacewalk, disaster strikes. The shuttle is destroyed, leaving the two completely alone -- tethered to nothing but each other and spiraling out into the blackness. The deafening silence tells them they have lost any link to Earth...and any chance for rescue. As fear turns to panic, every gulp of air eats away at what little oxygen is left. But the only way home may be to go further out into the terrifying expanse of space.

I watched this on the big screen. And I need to get this out there: its one of the most over hyped and overated movies ive come across. Sandra Bullock was rubbish, huffing and puffing through the whole thing. I swear her huffing and puffing made 50% of the movies dialogue. She was a bad choice for this movie. George Clooney was awesome and made it worth watching. Once George was gone, this movie was bad.. I have nothing against Sandra, but she really ruined what would have been an awesome movie.

I thought to blame the media for how I was mislead into believing this film was something more, however the trailers contributed as well. Far from being an action and/or Sci Fi film, not a great deal actually happens, apart from Sandra Bullock spinning endlessly in space waiting for a miracle to happen... Not very thought provoking or entertaining - Apparently this movie won a lot of film awards, strange...

Sandra Bullock's character is empty, shallow and uninspired. We get no actual back story save from a few lines of dialog to another character we care little if nothing about as they are here for but a brief moment. If you want to watch a Movie about a person who is in way over their head mumble to them-self for over an hour, this is the movie for you. I spent a good portion of this movie hoping for the character to die, as that would have been something. Unlike this Movie, this review has more substance that this Garbage.
