About this movie

A cinematic adaptation of four brilliant short stories of three great Bengali authors; Parasuram, Satyajit Ray and Sharadindu Bandopadhyay highlighting extraordinary dimensions of ordinary human lives. Each capable of creating myriad images and emotions through a single sentence. The four stories explores four different facets of human life. The first, Bateswarer Abodan by Parasuram portrays the story of a popular novelist and how profoundly his literary works affect the lives of his fans. The second and third, Dui Bondhu (adapted from Kisohrilaler Bondhu) and Kagtarua by Satyajit Ray, weave a sweet tale of friendship and a poignant tale of betrayal with a touch of the supernatural. The last of the lot, Porikka, is a romantic tale by master storyteller Sharadindu Bandopadhyay. The director, Sandip Ray has retained the essence of the literature and considering the fact that all the authors had written about a world we no longer live in.

Sandip Ray delivered a masterpiece. It was expected , but as is the norm with him he surpassed all set expectations. To delight and awe has been a tradition that he so brilliantly upholds.
