SPOILER DON'T CONTINUE IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED: This movie really got me thinking! At the end of the movie I though Patema and Age swithed gravities because the phenomenon happened again. After some research, I found out Age's world was inverted the whole time and Patema always had regular gravity! Such a plot twist!

The film lacks depth and plot. It misses a lot of its potential to develop its characters and give meaning to its expansive imagination and beautiful imagery. A lot of the time you're just waiting for them to explain the details of the world and the characters in front of you, and the details don't really come. If you're curious about Studio Ghibli and want to watch a good anime, watch Howl's Moving Castle or Spirited Away, which have more developed characters and less unneeded noncontributory enigma.

I've seen "Time of Eve" and I thoroughly enjoyed that film. This movie is just as satisfying. Clues are littered throughout the film for the final reveal. Also, it's not so much a love story story, but about friendship and trust between two kids from different worlds.
