From the moment I saw the trailer, the film was my top of the list. I eventually got round to watching it today. It has my some great chuckles throughout, which kept me entertained. The story was fantastic, I'm not going to give anything away. Ben Stiller has done a great job acting/directing, this film is definitely up above Tropic Thunder and Zoolander in my head - I will go as far to say that this is my favourite film of all time. I have just ordered the book by James Thurber on which this film is based. They have done well casting local Icelandics and Afghans (I sat through all the credits at the end and noticed this). Overall messages that the film conveyed to me: - Online dating is catching on. - Go and jump out a helicopter into the sea! - Get yourself noticed in the world, get on the front cover of a magazine. - I want to get an issue of Life magazine, I hope they still do it (Just checked, and they don't, the story of Life Magazine in the film is similar to the real story) - Don't let time get the better of your goals. Thanks for reading

It starts quite slowly and at first seems like it's gonna be a bit of a soulless CGI film based on the dreams of the protagonist but it shifts into a really inspiring lesson about risk taking and engagement in the world that is really inspiring. A really decent feel good movie. It has some parallels with "Into the wild " written and directed by Sean Pennand I'd bet Stiller took some inspiration from that movie.. Good stuff. IMHO.

Probably one of the best picture shooting I've seen in a long time. Rather artificial colours but my God is it spectacular! Especially with the framing of the scenes! Soundtrack is truly inspirational and makes you want to go out and do things! I would say the acting and script are only average but this film is really about eye candy and feeling good about yourself :)
