About this movie

Hailed as the most frightening film since The Exorcist, acclaimed Director Danny Boyle's visionary take on zombie horror "isn't just scary it's absolutely terrifying" (Access Hollywood).

An infirmary patient awakens from a coma to an empty room in a vacant hospital in a deserted city. A powerful virus, which locks victims into a permanent state of murderous rage, has transformed the world around him into a seemingly desolate wasteland. Now a handful of survivors must fight to stay alive, unaware that the worst is yet to come.

First, Cillian Murphy is amazing in anything. The Wind That Shakes The Barley, and Breakfast on Pluto were two obscure and deeply moving films that he should have won some kind of award for. This movie, set in the UK, was professionally filmed, produced, and acted. The "Infected" were unusually fast on their feet which lends to being even more horrifying. I've seen every Zombie flick out there, and this one is definitely in my top 5 favorite Zombie flicks. 1-10, 10 being best, this one gets a 9.5 =)

The interesting thing about this movie, is the fact that you cannot call these people "zombies". From what we know, the virus simply puts the carrier into an endless rage, turning them into mindless killing machines. A great movie for its time, and still a good movie nowadays, I love it to bits.

This, next to the Romero movies, is one of the best zombie films I've seen! Honestly, it seems like the U.K. is making better zombie movies than us now-a-days with this, Shaun of the Dead, and The Girl With All The Gifts. Maybe we should step back and let them make some more, because that's exactly what I want to see!
