About this movie

Melissa McCarthy and Susan Sarandon star in this side splitting comedy.

Tammy (McCarthy) is having a bad day. She's totaled her clunker car, gotten fired from her thankless job at a greasy burger joint, and instead of finding comfort at home, finds her husband getting comfortable with the neighbor in her own house.

It's time to take her boom box and book it. The bad news is she's broke and without wheels. The worse news is her grandma, Pearl (Sarandon), is her only option-with a car, cash, and an itch to see Niagara Falls. Not exactly the escape Tammy had in mind. But on the road, with grandma riding shot gun, it may be just what Tammy needs.

I cant believe I bought this movie. I heard from several people it was terrible, and some others saying it was hilarious. I love McCarthy so I took the chance. But this was ridiculous. The plot was so random and boring. Her gramma was a piece of trash and a bad person. And Tammys newest love interest looked like a pedophile. Boring boring boring! Not funny. Its a super awkward, cheesy film. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY... Youll just be frowning at the TV for two strait hours.

The premise itself was already boring, but my wife wanted to see it, so we rented it. Just like I thought, it was boring and it wasn't even chuckle-worthy, which I half expected considering I think Melissa McCarthy is a very funny actress. I expected at least one laugh, but no. Guess its hard to make "road trip with grandma for no reason" funny, even if you're a generally hilarious person. Don't waste your money or time.

I have to say. I LOVE McCarthy, she is so cute and funny with all her mannerisms. She was just absolutely AMAZING in "the heat". If you are expecting as much comedy from that movie as you do in this one, its not so. This movie is much more of a sentimental family drama than a comedy. It was cute and just ok. I love her acting ability to the core and that she doesn't need to fit the standards of "skinny LA blond actress" that we are all sick of. But anyway, It's a movie I would only watch this once.
