This is the story of a master toymaker who discovers a magical kingdom of elves at the North Pole. He is entrusted with special powers to become Santa Claus! He meets Patch (Dudley Moore), an eager-to-please elf who becomes mixed up with a dastardly toy tycoon's (John Lithgow) plans to take over Christmas.

I love this movie for two reasons. One I had seen this movie when I was younger with my brother and I thought it was awesome. The reindeer, the cool classic looking Santa, the weird candy canes that made you fly, and of course Dudley Moore as the jilted elf helped make it great. Two, I view it more of a comedy now then I did back then. Purely because it can be creepy and utterly dumb. From the way the guy becomes Santa to Santa giving Joe a wooden toy instead of a family. It's great watch it and laugh.
