About this movie

The epic graphic novel by Frank Miller (Sin City) assaults the screen with the blood, thunder and awe of its ferocious visual style faithfully recreated in an intense blend of live-action and CGI animation. Retelling the ancient Battle of Thermopylae, it depicts the titanic clash in which King Leonidas (Gerard Butler) and 300 Spartans fought to the death against Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro) and his massive Persian army. Experience history at swordpoint. And moviemaking with a cutting edge. MPAA Rating: R ©

This was the first film I've actually been completely engrossed in in a while. Absolutely love it. Some of the fight scenes in this film are amazing and the slow motion impacts are some of the best parts of this film. The battle between them and the immortals is great, especially when Leonidas takes down about seven of them. Also in the final scene when the captain goes crazy is awesome, he gets stabbed by the spear and then kills three of them it just filled me with awe when I saw it, i LOVED it

The film isn't historically accurate as there are peculiar mythological beasts in it, the Spartan armour is wrong and there were more than 300 men at the battle of Thermopylae, however the film makes up for this with the sheer quantity of breathtaking fight scenes, slow motion impacts, accurate & awesome quotes (such as "then we shall fight in the shade" and "Persians, come and get them") and distict soundtrack (compared to other historical films)

very atmospheric being shot in a semi monochromatic form but after hearing that the six packs are painted on and the now infamous TONIGHT WE DINE IN HELL catch phrase it has some really funny moments as well z epic ones
