About this game

Quento is a delightful little math puzzler without ads that is fun for kids and adults. Over the past 8 years it has been played all over the world by children, parents, students, teachers and basically anyone during commutes, in schools, on camp sites, during lunch breaks, at offices and in bed before going to sleep.

Enjoy endless rounds of quick play, a unique daily challenge, different sets of numbers and a zen mode. And with the special "Quento for Schools" mode, students can play together in class, in smaller groups or engage individual challenges.

Here's what the media said:

Cult of Mac: "Quento is a delight. It’s different, it’s challenging, it’s got something to offer for kids learning math in school and for adults who want to give their brains a workout. Fantastic."

iMore: "Quento is an excellent math puzzle game for all ages. Both young kids and experienced mathematicians will enjoy it."

Android Central: "Look, I'm not a math guy. So what am I doing playing a game all morning that involves adding and subtracting? Moreover, why am I still playing it now? For the life of me, I don't know. But there's something about Quento that keeps me coming back."

How does it work? Simple! Quento gives you the solution to a sum and you'll have to do the math. To play, just swipe from a number to a + or - and to another number again. Stars are earned when the sum adds up to the challenge above and before you know it you've progressed a round!

Quento comes without ads, and the free version truly offers more than enough challenges to make it a perfect match for kids and students to use at schools. There is an optional single in-app purchase that unlocks the toughest challenges and more number sets for those that want to work out even more.

This way we hoped to offer more than enough for everyone to enjoy!

Good game; feels a little unfinished. I like Q42's games, and Quento is no exception. It's a really excellent concept, the graphics are good, and it feels smooth to play. I've played a few levels every day since I got it, and I'm glad I bought the full version. Does need some QA and the ability to go back to old levels. Score system maybe. I had to move on from round 74 because the last number seriously wasn't possible (minor issue, considering it was only one time).

I've made a tool in Microsoft Excel that calculates the sum for each possible path, and it's made the game more manageable, and I'm slowly weaning myself off of using the tool. One thing I don't like about this game is that you may not revisit rounds you have completed earlier if you advance to the next one. The player is not incentivized to find the longer paths, and can just blaze through the game with the two-long paths. I think unlocking more level themes with stars would be a nice touch.

Really fun and challenging, I paid for full version after paying a bunch of rounds for more challenge. But I can't go back to play the locked rounds I missed. With that feature i'd go full five stars.

What's new

Play in class with the new "Quento for Schools" mode! A teacher can prepare a set of rounds, set the difficulty and share the code. With that code, students play together in groups or compete and see who's the math hero.

The hint system was also updated. You can now request hints for a specific number which also works in zen mode.
Many smaller changes were made in the interface too. We hope you enjoy this update! Let us know what you think of Quento by reviewing the app!
