About this app
gStrings is a chromatic tuner application measuring sound pitch and intensity. This is the ad supported version.
It will let you tune any musical instrument (violin, viola, violoncello, bass, guitar, piano, wind instruments, your own voice/singing).
Features include:
1. multiple built-in instruments and tunings,
2. support for user-defined custom tunings,
3. a long list of built-in temperaments (just, pythagorean, meantone, comma, etc.),
4. support for user-defined custom temperaments,
5. orchestra tuning (shifting/redefining tone frequencies),
6. pitch pipe,
and many more.

I am self taught and this tool has been a trusted teacher in conditioning my ears to the frequency I'm seeking. if there could be one improvement, it would be that when it gets closr to the target I am seeking it would be more sensitive to the actual wave pattern as it could track ososcillatiins on a finer scale to better hit the desired target. as a tool for a self taught guitar player this is beyond value in what it has allowed me to achieve.

i've been using this tuner for as long as i can remember and have never had a single issue, never been bombarded with ads to the point it's unusable, and most importantly, never been gaslit into leaving a review like some other apps do every single time you open them. gstrings has always been there when i needed a reliable tuner. finally today it asked after all these years, even acknowledging i've been using it for a while. 10000 out of 10, have definitely already recommended to others.

I have had many years. My favorite tuner Simple straightforward interface and works with many stringed instruments. Does not bounce around much like other tuners. You must use in a quiet environment. Small inobstrusive ads show on screen. Can specify instruments, but no mandolin; I say violin which uses same tuning.
