Hold your device up to a melody instrument such as the tin-whistle, flute, concertina or uilleann pipes, tap record and the melody will be extracted and submitted to the tunepal.org search engine for matching.
Matching tunes are downloaded to your device, where you can view and edit the notation or the stave, email the tune, post it to facebook or play it back using the high quality playback engine based.

Cannot identify slow airs, selecting both reels and waltzes as potential matches. Provided interesting new tune suggestions, but none close to a match. I really liked the fact that standard notation was provided for attempted matches, but the match engine doesn't work for the slow airs I presented for identification, despite uncomplicated violin melody over acoustic guitar. Tunepal appears to hear fingerpicking of the guitar harmony, and ignores the much louder melody line in the violin.

Doesn't recognise any traditional tunes from the radio, comes back with names that are not associated with Ireland, more like Hungarian style tunes, not remotely like the tune I was expecting. Not even the tempo is right, for example gives slow airs instead of reels and jigs. I've tried it a few times during the past few years but it never worked. Update, it gave Guzzle Together for the Carraroe Jig.

I only remembered part of an irish tune O learned years ago. I bought Tunepal and with only some of the A part of the tune, this app identifies it correctly as the Swallowtail Jig. Awesome! And it shows full staff notation and plays the tune along with chords, and change tempo, etc etc! Well worth the price. Installed on 4/19/2020 to a Samsung Galaxy S9 and it works great
