About this show

Crime drama series starring Idris Elba as Luther, a near-genius murder detective whose brilliant mind can't always save him, the innocent and the guilty. On a moral crusade, with only his convictions for company, John Luther is a troubled man, a philosophical cop possessed by the insoluble problem of evil and justice in a Godless world. Confronting depravity in its many terrible forms, over a succession of psychological duels between hunter and hunted, perpetrator and prey, Luther reveals his capacity for violence as well as kindness; his sudden vulnerability and dizzying, visionary mind.

Like others have said, Google is fast becoming a massive rip-off merchant. Almost 2 quid an episode? Are you having a laugh?!!! And to those defending the pricing, you clearly have more money than sense. Its got nothing to do with the license fee or whether it is (currently) on iPlayer, it's about the extortionate price per episode that Google are charging.

I was so very excited about this show coming back to our screens, and was thoroughly gripped with the first two episodes - what an excellent story. But am completely disappointed by the ending - seriously!!!? What grips you about Luther is the well-written, imaginative, thought-provoking and sometimes @?!* scaring cases (see episodes 4.1 and 4.2). However, Luther remains a generally upbeat character - thus, why can't his personal life reflect the light, instead of the darkness from his work seeping into his private life? Why is he not allowed to maintain a normal relationship? I feel cheated by his personal losses. Also, his career is kind of in the toilet. How does he come back from that?

To all those saying BBC iPlayer allows to view for free. That's true. But only the last episode shown is viewable then its removed after a week. That's what your license fee pays for. This is inline with I tunes pricing for the same episode but Google offer standard definition at a cheaper rate. The only thing I find issue with is cost for a whole season. Amazon have season 1-2 dvd for £10! Give us a discount for buying whole seasons Google!
