Season-only
It's Halloween and, for Linus, that can only mean one thing: the Great Pumpkin is flying over all the pumpkin patches searching for the most sincere one to reward with treats. Linus will wait in the cold, with Sally and his security blanket to keep him company, hoping the Great Pumpkin will pick his. But where's Charlie Brown? He's busy getting ready for a party with the kids and trying to make the perfect ghost costume -- unfortunately, our favorite blockhead not only gets rocks in his trick-or-treat bag, but he resembles a pumpkin more than a ghost. At least he hasn't gotten his costume dirty like Pig Pen, or been pestered by Lucy like Shroeder. Scary! Fear not, Snoopy is in on the fun too, his aviator goggles firmly in place. This timeless classic from Charles M. Shultz and Bill Melendez is remastered and features many heartwarming scenes.

We watched this last night with our kids. It's quite dated, and many of the jokes aren't funny without the context and history of the Peanuts characters. There's a surprising amount of mean spirited teasing between the characters. That, plus the $9.99 price for a single 22-minute episode, means this gets 2 stars. I don't think we'd watch thing again next year.

This was practically a Halloween tradition when I was a kid. And now that I have kids of my own, it'll be a tradition for them to pass on to their kids. As for the fool who says that this was dated (Steve Lacy), you seriously need to take out a loan and buy yourself a clue.

One of the greatest cartoons ever made. I watch all of the Peanuts specials every year, and have since I was a little girl and will continue to do so, but this one is always my favorite. The Peanuts are an american classic and no holiday is complete without them! Charles Schulz was truly brilliant and was a man with a lot of heart. He cared about his characters and the series so much that he literally drew comics until he physically couldn't anymore. He is one of my heroes. ❤
