About this show

Psych stars James Roday as Shawn Spencer, a police consultant who solves crimes with powers of observation so acute that the police think he's psychic - or so he lets them believe. Also stars Dulé Hill as Shawn's best friend and reluctant accomplice, and Corbin Bernsen as Shawn's disapproving father, who ironically was the one who honed his son's "observation" skills as a child. Also featured are Timothy Omundson, Maggie Lawson and Kirsten Nelson.

As I'm writing this review, it's currently July 7th 2016, the 10th anniversary of Psych. I have been faithfully watching and rewatching this show for 7 years now. Each and every episode has depth, mind boggling humor, and overall well thought-out plot lines. Every aspect of this show is extraordinarily written and performed. It is truly perfect. It has an insanely stupendous comedic timing and storyline depth. They so beautifully mix comedy with detective show aspects and the result is truly awe-inspiring.

This is the greatest show of all time and Brooklyn 99 wouldn't even exist without it, given that Jake Peralta is a (admittedly good) rip off of Shawn Spencer. Plz note, this show is free on NBC's Peacock with ads. So don't buy it here, but definitely watch it. Edit: I counted the 1 star reviews here and there are less than 20 with the main complaint being that it's 'gay'. So there it is, the biggest problem this show has is the perfect chemistry in Shawn and Gus' (completely platonic) bromance.

It took more than a few episodes for Psych to grow on me. I felt that James Roday came off as a poor mans Ryan Reynolds at first, but I was way off. James Roday and Dule Hill have perfect chemistry as best friends. The show is layered with recurring jokes and keep an eye out for the pineapple in every episode. Its just one of those feel good shows that you can watch anytime.
