About this app

For bell ringers, change ringers, campanologists:

********

Please - if you encounter any difficulties with Methodology - do not just leave a grumpy comment (with a low rating) - get in touch by email (yorkshiresurprise@gmail.com) and a response will be with you shortly. Problems can usually be resolved quickly.

Many thanks to all who have provided feedback - your support is greatly appreciated!

********

Swipe in from the left to get the method selection/method view menu.

Alternatively, tap the screen to bring down the top bar that contains the 'burger' menu in the top left (the method selection/method view menu), a drop down list of practice bells (including pairs of bells for hand bell ringers), and the context sensitive menu (three dots arranged vertically) that allows you to choose how Methodology represents the view you're in.

New to this version of Methodology:
A brand new look and feel
A new way to navigate around the app (may take some getting used to :)
Pinch to zoom the blue line
Enhanced hand bell support
Screens are designed to work in landscape as well as portrait
Highlight your bell in Method Player to help learn to hear it amongst all the others
Bobs and singles slightly better calculated
Methods such as Double Norwich Surprise now have a choice of what bobs and singles are used

"My Methods" should survive the update, but the Method Library is now much more accessible.

Don't forget, CCCBR names are sometimes not what you might expect - e.g. Plain Hunt is included, but is called "Original". This is not something that Methodology has any control over!

View methods with their Bobs and Singles, and practise your selected method with the method tutor and method player.
Context sensitive settings allow you to select your practice bell, see extra changes before and after touches, and more!

Bobs and Singles are created using a fully automatic algorithm - errors/omissions are going to occur so point these out and they will be dealt with.

The entire Central Council of Church Bell Ringers method collection (for 4 to 12 bells) is included (December 2015). The method descriptions are included in heavily modified form. As such, the copyright notice is included below:

It's got most of the features I'd like to see in such an app. It would be nice if it could have an option to start the line automatically from the bell that is making places across the lead end; and if the "show all lines" grid had a different colour for each bell.

No updates for a long time - method player still less than useless given it can't ring round evenly... Love the app - great to have all that information at my finger tips. Only downside is the method player doesn't stay in time on my phone. I've got a brand new Samsung Galaxy Note 9 so I'm not expecting performance issues. It's a bit of a challenge to learn using the method player when the simulated bells can't strike evenly. That said, it is a bit more like ringing at a normal practice!

Thank you for the feedback - it is true that some phones experience erratic timings in Method Player. Look out for an upcoming release that should sort this out.

just some minor things, like it'd be nice to have an option to hide/show the line in the method player, and the back button only leaves the app, instead of going to a previously opened screen
